Minor Safety Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

A safe space for minor learners to study Quranic Arabic vocabulary.

At Norai, minor learner safety is not a feature. It is the foundation. Every part of our system, from content review to data handling, is designed to protect minor learners while they study Quranic Arabic vocabulary. We follow strict global standards for family safety, privacy, and age-appropriate digital learning, while honoring Islamic principles of care and responsibility.

Parent-Managed Minor Learner Profiles

Norai is an educational Quranic Arabic learning app. Where minor learner profiles are used, they are parent-managed.

Minor learner profiles are created, managed, supervised, and deleted by parents or guardians. Minor learners do not create independent public accounts and do not manage billing, subscriptions, or account settings.

What Norai Does Not Provide

Norai does not provide:

  • Tafseer (interpretation)
  • Fatwa or religious rulings
  • AI-generated Quranic meanings
  • Chat, messaging, or social interaction

  • Minor-to-minor messaging
  • Strangers contacting minor learners
  • User-generated public content by minor learners
  • Location sharing by minor learners
  • Behavioural advertising targeted at minor learners Norai teaches only Quranic Arabic vocabulary using scholar-approved content.

Our Commitment to Minor Learners and Families

Minor learners deserve a quiet, focused, and protected environment when studying Quranic Arabic vocabulary. Norai is built around this belief. We have zero tolerance for content, behavior, or design choices that put minor learners at risk. This commitment is reflected in every product decision we make and is enforced through clear policies, technical safeguards, and ongoing review.

Our Four Core Pillars

  • Zero Tolerance — No exploitation, harm, or inappropriate content. Ever.
  • Scholar Reviewed — Every word and meaning is verified by qualified Islamic scholars.
  • Privacy First — Minor learner profiles are managed by parents or guardians. Minor learners are not shown advertisements or advertising based tracking during learning sessions.
  • Family Controlled — Billing, settings, and account management behind Family Gate.

Zero Tolerance for Exploitative or Harmful Material

Norai has zero tolerance for exploitative or harmful material, or any content that exploits, endangers, sexualizes, or harms minor learners. This applies to:

  • Any exploitative or harmful material in app content, user uploads, or third party integrations.
  • Grooming behavior of any kind.
  • Content that sexualizes minors in any way, even implicitly.
  • Predatory behavior by users, contributors, or staff.

Our Actions

If we detect or are notified of any such content or behavior, we will:

  • Immediately remove the content from our platform.
  • Permanently ban the responsible account.
  • Report to relevant authorities, safety organizations, and local law enforcement where required or appropriate.
  • Cooperate fully with all law enforcement investigations.

Data Privacy for Minor Learners

Minor Learner Profile Information

Minor learner profiles are created and managed by parents or guardians.

Parents or guardians may review, correct, or request deletion of minor learner profile information at any time.

During learner profile setup, parents or guardians may provide:

  • Learner name
  • Gender
  • Date of birth Each minor learner profile is connected to the parent account and accessed through a parent managed QR based learner login flow designed to keep learning access simple and secure for minor learners.

We Do Not Collect From Minor Learners

We do not collect from minor learners:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • GPS location or device location
  • Photos, videos, or voice recordings from minor learners
  • Biometric data
  • Device contacts or social network information

  • Behavioral advertising data

What We Collect to Support Learning

  • Lesson progress and completion activity
  • Practice events and mastery tracking
  • XP and learning activity data
  • Learner session activity such as login and logout events
  • App usage duration for family dashboard summaries
  • Device type and application version for technical support and stability This information is linked to the parent managed minor learner profile and family account. It is stored securely, used only to support the learning experience, and never sold to third parties or used for behavioral advertising.

Family Controls

The family owns the account. Minor learners use the learning experience through parent managed learner profiles. This separation is built into the app from the start.

Minor learner profiles are accessed through a parent managed QR based learner login flow designed to keep learning access simple and secure for minor learners.

Minor Learner Notifications

Minor learner notifications are controlled by parents or guardians.

By default, child profile progress, inactivity, and learning reminders are routed to the parent or guardian account where applicable.

Direct notifications to a child device, where available, are limited to simple learning reminders or positive learning encouragement and only work when enabled or controlled by the parent or guardian.

Norai does not send marketing, billing, subscription prompts, external links, sensitive personal data, exact performance details, Quranic interpretation, tafseer, fatwa, religious rulings, or AI-generated Quranic meanings through child notifications.

  • Access billing or subscription settings.
  • Change account information.
  • Make any in app purchases. None exist for minor learners.
  • Delete their progress.
  • Contact support directly.

Family Dashboard

Families can monitor their minor learner's progress through a dedicated dashboard:

  • Set daily time limits per minor learner.
