حكمة / Hik-mah
Hikmah is an Arabic term in Islam that means wisdom, sound judgment, and the ability to apply knowledge in the best and most beneficial way.
The Hikmah meaning in Islam refers to wisdom guided by knowledge, understanding, and faith. Hikmah involves making righteous decisions, speaking wisely, and acting according to the teachings of Allah and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In Islam, Hikmah is considered a valuable quality that Allah grants to those who seek knowledge, understanding, and guidance. The Quran mentions Hikmah as a blessing connected with wisdom, justice, and correct judgment.
Hikmah is not only about having knowledge but also about using that knowledge properly in different situations. It includes patience, good character, fairness, and understanding how to deal with people kindly and wisely. Islamic scholars often describe Hikmah as the ability to place things in their proper context and make decisions that bring benefit and avoid harm.
Prophets were given Hikmah to guide humanity with wisdom and compassion. Muslims are encouraged to seek Hikmah in worship, relationships, communication, and everyday life so they can live according to Islamic values and make thoughtful choices.
Hikmah also plays an important role in dawah (inviting others to Islam), where Muslims are encouraged to speak with wisdom, gentleness, and understanding.
