Salah

صلاة / Sa-laah

Salah is the Islamic act of prayer performed by Muslims five times a day as a direct form of worship and connection with Allah.

What Is Salah?

The Salah meaning in Islam refers to the obligatory daily prayers that Muslims perform at specific times throughout the day. Salah is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and an essential part of Muslim worship.

What Does Salah Mean in Islam?

In Islam, Salah is a direct connection between a believer and Allah. Muslims perform Salah by reciting verses from the Quran and making specific physical movements such as standing, bowing (Rukuh), and prostration (Sujood).

The five daily prayers are:

Fajr – before sunrise

Dhuhr – after midday

Asr – afternoon prayer

Maghrib – after sunset

Isha – night prayer

Salah teaches discipline, humility, patience, gratitude, and remembrance of Allah. Muslims face the Kaaba in Makkah during prayer and perform Salah with sincerity and concentration.

Prayer is considered one of the most important acts of worship in Islam because it strengthens faith, brings spiritual peace, and reminds believers of their purpose and responsibilities. Muslims are encouraged to perform Salah regularly and on time, both individually and in congregation.

The practice of Salah was taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and continues to unite Muslims worldwide through daily worship and devotion to Allah.
